This privacy policy applies to Nordiske Medier A/S, CVR no.: DK10150825 (‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’, ‘Nordiske Medier’), which is part of the Nordjyske Mediehus group. Nordic Media is the data controller responsible for the collection and processing of personal data that takes place when you use our digital services, including www.nordiskemedier.dk and all our other Danish media, which you can find here. This privacy policy also applies when you purchase products or other services from us, visit our websites or communicate with us in general.

1. Use of your personal data

We process your personal data in accordance with:
• the consent you have given us,
• subscriptions and other contracts, or
• our legitimate interests

Information upon consent

When you have given your consent, we process your general personal data for various marketing purposes (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) to communicate information about offers, competitions, news about our services and products, or other marketing on behalf of us or our partners, and also to make the content of our advertising more relevant to you. You can read more about how to withdraw your consent in section 7.

We also process your personal data to target banner advertising on our digital platforms. This involves analysing your user behaviour and preferences in order to predict which banner ads might be most relevant to you. You can read more about this processing in section 6.

Information for subscriptions and other contracts

We process your general personal data in order to enter into or fulfil a contract with you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)), including to manage your subscription or provide you with the services you have requested, as well as to process your payments. The processing of your personal data is necessary in order for us to provide the service you have purchased/are purchasing from us. We process your personal data for the following purposes:

• to be able to provide the requested services or products, e.g. subscription products,
• to be able to communicate with you, e.g. regarding changes to our terms and conditions, and
• to ensure the operation of our digital services, including our websites.

Furthermore, we process information about your payments in order to comply with our legal obligation to store accounting records (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c), cf. the Danish Bookkeeping Act).

Membership

We process your general personal data when you purchase access to our member platform in order to manage your access to the member platform (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). Among other things, we collect your information when you create a user login on the member platform. We also process the information you include in your member posts. The processing of your personal data is necessary in order for us to administer your membership subscription and communicate with you, for example, to address technical issues and changes to the terms and conditions of your subscription. We process your personal data for the following purposes:

• to provide you with access to the membership platform
• to communicate with you, for example, regarding changes to our terms and conditions
• to ensure the operation of the membership platform

We may disclose information about which member posts you have interacted with in order to measure member traffic statistics. We will only disclose your information if, in addition to your membership, you have accepted cookies on our site. We will store your membership information for as long as your membership subscription is active.

Legitimate interest

When processing your personal data on the basis of our legitimate interest, we do so for the purpose of operating and developing our digital services and other communication with you. Our legitimate interests are:

• a. Operation and development of our digital services
We use your information to understand how you use our digital services. The purpose is to improve our digital services by, among other things, identifying areas for improvement and maintaining our digital services. This helps us create a smoother and more user-friendly experience for you.

We also use your personal data in connection with operations and development to prevent, investigate and report fraud or other illegal activities. This includes ensuring that the same user does not create multiple accounts in order to obtain multiple free trial periods. This is essential to protect you and our company from potential threats and to ensure a safe and reliable user experience.

• b. Other communication
When you contact us with questions about your subscription, delivery of physical products, online access or other topics, we may ask for your personal data. It is in our legitimate interest to process this information in order to handle your enquiry correctly and provide you with the necessary assistance. In some cases, we may also need to contact you regarding your subscription.

2. Transfer of your personal data to third parties

We may transfer your personal data to the categories of third parties listed below:

• a) service providers who assist with our business activities, including hosting providers, software and analytics providers, etc.
• b) third parties who supply products or services
• c) public authorities, provided that this is required by law, court order, or if it is necessary in order to document, exercise or defend our legal rights
• d) our affiliated companies
• e) our advisors, including auditing firms and law firms, and
• f) other third parties, if you consent to this, or in connection with a merger, demerger or sale involving all or part of our business or assets

3. Transfer of your personal data outside the EU/EEA

Some of the third parties to whom we transfer personal data may be located outside the EU/EEA. When we transfer your personal data to countries outside the EU/EEA that do not have an adequate level of data protection under the GDPR, we will always ensure that the necessary security measures are taken to protect your personal data. Transfers will only take place on the basis of standard contracts of the European Commission, Data Privacy Framework certification or adequacy decisions in general.

4. Protection and storage of your personal data

Personal data that we collect about you will be stored in accordance with the table below, unless longer storage is required to comply with the law:

Personal data collected through the use of cookies – e.g. via Google Analytics.	Up to 3 years. Following the deletion of personal data as described above.

5. Social media

Joint data responsibility

When you visit our company profiles on social media, we are jointly responsible for data with the social media providers. We process information about you when you interact with our company profiles. The purpose of the processing is to improve our products and services, whereby we will improve our own company profiles.

6. Cookies

First-party cookies

A cookie may contain text, numbers or, for example, a date, and is basically a text file stored on your computer, tablet or phone. It is not a program and cannot contain viruses. Since a cookie is stored on your device, you can always view, change or delete these cookies. To do so, go to your browser settings.

We use cookies for statistics and analysis and basic site functionality, which helps us to improve our products through user insight. We collect information about when and how long you visit a website, which and how many sections, articles and other products you visit, whether your computer has visited us before, which browser and operating system you use, IP numbers, which advertisements you see, etc. With your consent, we also use the collected information to target our direct marketing to you. Furthermore, we use the information to document and clarify the value of ad impressions to our advertisers.

When using Nordiske Meier’s websites in a normal manner, where you do not use forms to directly enter information such as your name and address, the websites solely use cookies. If you provide additional information, e.g. in connection with creating a ‘Login’, a cross-reference will be made that enables Nordiske Medier to make your behaviour personally identifiable. These cross-references can only be made by Nordiske Medier, and not by our partners. All companies in the Nordjyske Mediehus group may use the information, although only a few employees are able to view and decode it.

These cookies are called first-party cookies and are set by Nordiske Medier.

Third-party cookies

Nordiske Medier also has a number of partners who set cookies – so-called third-party cookies. These cookies may be set by our advertisers, media agencies, advertising networks and other services (e.g. Facebook).

Third-party cookies are used to ensure the delivery of targeted online advertisements and to ensure the functionality of the services offered by our sites. In questionnaire surveys, analyses and similar, cookies are set for the purpose of registering your response and thus avoiding you receiving the same questionnaire again.

Information collected via cookies is stored in our systems – internally or with partners. We have entered into data processing agreements with our partners, who are therefore jointly responsible for the protection of personal data. We do not transfer/exchange data with parties with whom we do not have EU-valid data processing agreements.

7. Your rights

Under the data protection legislation, you have a number of rights in relation to our processing of your personal data:

• a. Right to view information (right of access)
You have the right to access the information we process about you, as well as a range of additional information.
• b. Right to rectification (correction)
You have the right to have incorrect information about yourself corrected.
• c. Right to erasure
In special cases, you have the right to have information about you erased before the time of our regular general erasure. Please see our contact details in section 8.
• d. Right to restriction of processing
In certain cases, you have the right to have the processing of your personal data restricted. If you have the right to have the processing restricted, we may hereafter only process the information with your consent, except for storage purposes, or for the purpose of establishing, asserting or defending legal claims, or to protect a person or important societal interests.
• e. Right to object
In certain cases, you have the right to object to our otherwise lawful processing of your personal data. You may also object to the processing of your data for direct marketing purposes.
• f. Right to transmit data (data portability)
In certain cases, you have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to have this personal data transferred from one data controller to another without hindrance.
• g. Right to withdraw consent
You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. In certain cases, withdrawing consent will require you to actively log out and delete cookies in your browser. If you wish to update/manage your consent to the newsletter, you can do so at the bottom of all newsletters you receive from us. Additionally, you can contact our customer service (see section 8).
